"A tightly-knit, young but promising Cabernet Sauvignon, Altamura's 1995 exhibits a dark ruby/purple color as well as an attractive nose of licorice, black currants, and spicy new oak. Rich, with sweet fruit, firm tannin, and a dusty, gritty finish, this wine's tannin will become better integrated with several years in the bottle if my instincts are correct. The fruit is pure and vibrant."
