"The 2011 Montevertine (Sangioveto, Canaiolo and Colorino) is enormously silky and smooth with a superior sense of finesse and elegance. Radda in Chianti has some of the highest vineyards where Tuscan grapes develop their trademark acidity. Dark fruit and dried cherries segue to delicate spice, chopped mint, blue flower and dried tobacco. Its profound sense of elegance is impossible to miss. This is a beautiful expression that boldly defeats anything negative you may know about the 2011 vintage. It’s a true stunner."

Italy grows more indigenous grape varieties than any other country and produces wine in all 20 of its regions. From Piedmont's Nebbiolo to Tuscany's Sangiovese, its finest wines pair structure and bright acidity with a strong sense of place.
The heartland of Sangiovese, producing Chianti Classico, Brunello di Montalcino and the Cabernet-influenced 'Super Tuscans' of the coast. Its wines balance bright acidity, savory structure and cellar-worthiness.
Tuscany's signature red, giving high-acid, savory wines of sour cherry, herbs and firm tannin. It is the backbone of Chianti, Brunello and many Super Tuscans.
