"Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2012 tasting in Beaune. The 2012 Meursault 1er Cru les Perrières from Domaine du Montille has a quintessential Perrières nose: cold wet stone, more tertiary than its peers, touches of walnut and smoke coming through with aeration. The palate is fresh and vibrant, citrus peel and orange rind on the entry, very good depth and gently fanning out towards the long finish. This is primal, backward and broody but I can envisage this ageing with real style and verve."
