"Monsieur Boisson tells me that their parcel of Chevalieres is always their last plot to be harvested, and this was indeed the case in 2009. Despite the vagaries of late harvesting in 2009, where sugars spiraled out of control very briskly, the 2009 Boisson-Vadot Chevaliers shows no signs of any of these potential pitfalls. The bouquet is deep, pure and strikingly beautiful, as it offers up a complex mélange of apple, pear, orange zest, iodine, great minerality and a topnote of lime blossoms. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and quite closed, with a rock solid core of fruit, superb acids, laser-like focus and outstanding backend grip on the very long and racy finish. This will need a few years to fully blossom and should prove to be an absolutely outstanding example of the vintage."

2009 in Burgundy was warm and sunny, producing ripe, rich and generous reds of hedonistic charm and supple tannins; the whites are opulent but can lack acidity, making them best enjoyed relatively young.
