"Featuring fruit from contract vineyards in limestone-rich Kallstadt, and raised largely in 500-liter barrels, this seems to hit a sweet spot, with concentrated honeydew melon, herbal essences, and lime being framed or tamed by wood exposure. There is generous succulence to the glycerol-enhanced palate but also a welcome sense of underlying firmness. Juniper berry pungency and copious mineral salts serve for invigoration and salivation in an impressively sustained finish."
