"65% 70-year-old Grenache, 35% Syrah. Single-vineyard bottling â new. When they arrived in 1995 they did some geological tests. âWe were pioneers. Needed to correct farming and clones, so we did some micro vinifications. Took 5 to 10 years to isolate a single vineyard.â Limestone. Very deep crimson. Very well-mannered nose. Nicely integrated. Very tender wine. Fermentation in concrete with long skin contact. Mulberries. Very charming. Not obviously Maury really!"

The world's most influential fine-wine producer and the benchmark for Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne and the Rhone. Its appellation (AOC) system codifies geography, grape and method, and its wines set the global standard for age-worthiness and terroir expression.
A warm-climate red giving generous, high-alcohol wines of red fruit and spice. It anchors southern Rhone blends and old-vine wines in Spain and Australia.
Syrah (Shiraz) produces dark, powerful reds with black fruit, pepper and smoked-meat notes. It yields elegant, perfumed wines in the northern Rhone and bold, rich styles in Australia.
