"I was confused by divergent tastes of two barrels of Chassagne Montrachet Morgeot, which differed in taste, but not quality. The first barrel revealed spicy red berries in the nose and a thickly-textured mouth of red currants with a nice length. The second barrel was equally good, but with robust, nutty, minerally flavors and floral aromas. The quality is present, but what will it be like in the bottle? This note is the result of tastings I did in Burgundy between January 7 and January 29. Ratings with a range of scores in parentheses indicate the wine was tasted from cask, not bottle."
