"Some bricking but still with a ruby core. A fully mature yet relatively fresh nose flirts with sous bois and earth suffused secondary fruit aromas that introduce the rich, detailed and delicious middle weight flavors that evidence a subtle minerality on the mouth coating, velvety and impressively persistent finish. This is a lovely old school style wine that is drinking perfectly now and unlike some '85s that are now tiring, this retains good vibrancy; as such, it should continue to drink well . . . . Tasted twice in the last 2 years with scores that were close if not identical."
