"The 1976 Monte Bello is simply extraordinary, not to mention a superb example of 1970's California Cabernet Sauvignon. 1976 was a drought year, and that very much comes through in the wine's ripeness and overall density, even after all these years. A wine of superb aromatic intensity and striking inner sweetness, the 1976 has it all. Scents of mint, licorice, tobacco and savory herbs add nuance throughout, but as is so often the case with older Monte Bellos, the whole is far greater than the sum of its parts. What a wine."

The fourth-largest wine producer in the world, led by California. American fine wine is defined by ripe, expressive fruit and a spirit of innovation, with Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon among the most sought-after wines globally.
The world's most planted premium red grape, yielding deeply colored, tannic and structured wines with cassis, cedar and graphite notes. Firm tannins and acidity make it exceptionally age-worthy, whether as a varietal or the backbone of a Bordeaux blend.
Produces plush, supple, fruit-forward reds with plum and chocolate notes. Softer and earlier-maturing than Cabernet, it adds flesh and roundness to blends and stars in Right Bank Bordeaux.
