"Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2012 tasting in Beaune. The 2012 Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru les Referts is turning into a great wine and deserves a higher score than I awarded a couple of years ago. It has a strict and linear nose, allowing the stony, mineral scents to develop nicely in the glass. The palate is well balanced, quite powerful right from the start with citrus peel, ginger and a pleasing saline note that begs another sip on the finish. This is excellent tension and class here. This will be fascinating to see develop."
