"There are no such issues with the 2005 Shiraz. Purple-colored, it has a splendid bouquet of pain grille, smoke, bacon, truffle, violets, blueberry, and blackberry liqueur. Full-bodied, opulent, and powerful, the wine is already exhibiting complex flavors and enormous length. Those looking for subtlety are advised to look elsewhere. This is a candidate for seat-belt wine of the year. Kudos to Paul Petanga for taking no prisoners!"

Renowned for powerful, richly fruited Shiraz, most famously from the Barossa Valley, alongside age-worthy Cabernet and cool-climate whites. A warm climate and old, ungrafted vines produce wines of generosity and depth.
Syrah (Shiraz) produces dark, powerful reds with black fruit, pepper and smoked-meat notes. It yields elegant, perfumed wines in the northern Rhone and bold, rich styles in Australia.
