"This bottle was happily drunk about four months after the above bottle and was treated properly and was absolutely singing. The stunning and classically exotic Ausone bouquet soars from the glass in a blaze of cherry, pomegranate, menthol, a touch of nutskin, summer truffle, cigar wrapper and a brilliantly complex base of soil tones. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and magically complex, with precise focus and balance, a sweet core of red fruit, glorious transparency and a very, very long, tangy and beautifully resolved finish. This wine has just a whisper of tannin remaining, but it is the acids and impeccable balance here that will continue to carry this wine far into the future. A great vintage of Ausone."

The world's most influential fine-wine producer and the benchmark for Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne and the Rhone. Its appellation (AOC) system codifies geography, grape and method, and its wines set the global standard for age-worthiness and terroir expression.
The world's largest fine-wine region, built around blends of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Divided by the Gironde estuary into the structured Left Bank and the plush, Merlot-led Right Bank, it is the historic benchmark for age-worthy claret and sweet Sauternes.
An aromatic red grape lending perfume, red fruit and a leafy, savory edge. It thrives in the Loire and as a key blending partner in Bordeaux, especially Saint-Emilion.
Produces plush, supple, fruit-forward reds with plum and chocolate notes. Softer and earlier-maturing than Cabernet, it adds flesh and roundness to blends and stars in Right Bank Bordeaux.
