"As is so often the case in cellars in Nuits St. Georges, the Michelotsā example of Chaignots is one of the more flashy and forward premier crus in the cellar, despite its earnest need of a racking. The nose offers up notes of black cherries, plums, blood orange, cocoa, soil tones and a topnote of roses. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, focused and quite plush and charming (for young Nuits St. Georges), with fine length and grip, bright acids, and supple tannins on the finish."

A thin-skinned, terroir-sensitive red producing perfumed, silky and elegant wines of red-berry fruit and earthy complexity. It reaches its apogee in Burgundy.
