"The Chardonnay CuvĂŠe Indigène was inspired by Helen Turley in 1988. Essentially a winemakerâs barrel selection from the finest lots of the Old Wente clone, the dominate clonal component of all these single-vineyard wines, it is fermented with natural yeasts, and has always been one of Peter Michaelâs finest Chardonnays. There are 360 cases of the 2013 Chardonnay CuvĂŠe Indigène, which exhibits lots of honeyed pear characteristics intertwined with notions of gun flint, subtle smoke and leesy candle wax notes, medium to full body, and a distinct earthy/terroir character."
