"A wonderfully fresh and ultra-pure nose is immediately identifiable as Chablis speaks of iodine, oyster shell, green fruit and cool citrus scents. The sleek and focused middle weight flavors brim with minerality while delivering excelelnt power and punch to the beautifully long and impeccably well-balanced finish. Moreover there is fine mid-palate density and I very much like the texture. For my taste this has just arrived at its peak though it should be capable of holding here for another decade if desired. In a word, terrific. By contrast the second bottle frankly puzzled me as it did not show at all like the first one or like the 2008 Blanchots that I also opened from my own cellar (see herein) recently. It's not that the wine was poor so much as it was quite soft and lacked the bright acidity and classic Chablis character that is so typical of the vintage."
