"The past two years have been kind to me in terms of this vintage, as I’ve had quite a number of 1960 VPs from a variety of Shippers. Medium ruby and exhibiting only a hint as to its real age, in terms of the color. Delivering an intensity of aromatics that really had me shaking my head, with sweet scents of stewed fruits, primarily prune and dates along with those Saltana raisins and milk chocolate. Profound! In the mouth this was every bit as exciting, what I’d call an elegant and feminine style of Vintage Port with fully resolved tannins and good acidity. Soft and refined in the mouth, the plum and figs were sweet and concentrated with beautiful balance. The caramel aftertaste was so fine that I literally closed my eyes after swallowing. Maybe the best Port of the vintage, and I’m going on the hunt for more!"
