"It is interesting that a number of the more central and southerly premier crus in Nuits did not shine quite as bright as expected in this vintage, but this pair on the Vosne side of the village in Monsieur Méo’s cellars are absolutely stunning. The Murgers has taken the inherent elegance of 2005 and really run with it, as the wine soars from the glass in a blend of black raspberries, red cherries, vinesmoke, a touch of the game to come, absolutely stellar minerality, a nice base of vanillin oak, and once again pungent violets in the upper register. On the palate the wine is deep, full and urgent, with a rock solid core of fruit, striking purity, brisk acids, fine-grained tannins, and amazing grip on the long, pure finish. Another stellar Nuits."
