Estimate: $650
1 very lightly scuffed label. "Climats du Cœur presents Burgundy lovers with a great opportunity to get their hands on some of the region's finest wine, in very special magnums. A thousand cases containing four magnums of 2009 premiers crus are on offer . . . each of the four from impeccable addresses and sold in aid of an excellent cause. The 2009 vintage was so relatively plentiful that a group of the Côte d'Or's very best producers have decided to co-operate to transform some of it into a sizeable donation to local Burgundian charities. They are used to being asked to donate large bottles to various charities around the world but in 2009 decided to take the initiative and do something closer to home . . . . [the] Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru 2009 [was] vinified, aged and bottled by Domaine Dujac and Maison Faiveley from grapes donated by Maison Faiveley, Domaine Dujac, Domaine Dupont-Tisserandot, Domaine Bruno Clair, Domaine Rebourseau, Domaine Geantet-Pansiot, Domaine Drouhin-Laroze and Domaine Rossignol-Trapet. I managed to taste this at Dujac in late October 2010 and this was my enthusiastic tasting note: 'Both rich and savoury on nose. Sweet and round and no shortage of effort – perhaps a little readier than some cuvées but definitely a fine wine, with great persistence.'" - Jancis Robinson MW

"The Climats du Coeur bottling from Gevrey-Chambertin is made up of grapes from the following premier cru vineyards: Lavaux St. Jacques, Combes aux Moines, Craipillots, Fontenys, Champonnets, Petite-Chapelle, Poissenots and Bel-Air, with all of the grapes being brought in on either the 15th or 16th of September. Jeremy Seysses has done the vinification and raising of the wine, which was fifty percent de-stemmed and raised in forty percent new oak in 2009. It will of course only be available as part of the four magnum case offered through the website at www.climats-du-coeur.com and to date there are still cases available. The wine is going to be a very strong example of the vintage, as it offers up a beautiful nose of red and black cherries, a touch of gamebird, lovely soil tones, mustard seed, coffee and a gentle touch of new wood. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very suave on the attack, with lovely focus and balance, a fine core, blossoming complexity and impressive length and grip on moderately tannic finish. This should drink splendidly with about five years of bottle age under its belt and in its magnum format, have no difficulties keeping for thirty years or more. A really lovely, lovely bottle of wine for a very good charity."
