90+ JG "This is a new vineyard acquisition by the Drouhin family. Clos des Godeaux is a beautifully situated lieu à dit just above the great premier cru of Les Lavières, and if the 2009 is any indication of the ultimate quality of this wine this is going to soon be one of the most popular wines in the Drouhin lineup. The very elegant nose on the 2009 is a fine mÊlange of cherries, orange zest, woodsmoke, a lovely base of soil, fresh herbs and a bit of coffee in the upper register. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, pure and very refined (particularly for a young Savigny), with affine core of fruit, ripe tannins and lovely focus and balance on the long finish. Classy juice."

The world's most influential fine-wine producer and the benchmark for Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne and the Rhone. Its appellation (AOC) system codifies geography, grape and method, and its wines set the global standard for age-worthiness and terroir expression.
Produces the world's most revered Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from a mosaic of tiny, terroir-defined climats. Its hierarchy of village, Premier Cru and Grand Cru vineyards makes site the ultimate expression of quality.
2009 in Burgundy was warm and sunny, producing ripe, rich and generous reds of hedonistic charm and supple tannins; the whites are opulent but can lack acidity, making them best enjoyed relatively young.
