"I had last tasted the 1973 Mayacamas cabernet back in 2007, so it had been a while, and I had never had the pleasure to taste this superb wine out of magnum. Having now tasted this pristine magnum, it seems pretty clear . . . this magnum was simply stunning. The celestial bouquet soars from the glass in a blaze of sweet red and black cherries, black truffles, a bit of eucalyptus, cigar wrapper, incipient notes of chipotles, a superb base of mountain soil tones and a bit of tariness. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, complex and rock solid at the core, with great focus and balance, still a bit of ripe tannin to resolve and great soil drive on the very long and complex finish. A California icon!"

The fourth-largest wine producer in the world, led by California. American fine wine is defined by ripe, expressive fruit and a spirit of innovation, with Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon among the most sought-after wines globally.
The world's most planted premium red grape, yielding deeply colored, tannic and structured wines with cassis, cedar and graphite notes. Firm tannins and acidity make it exceptionally age-worthy, whether as a varietal or the backbone of a Bordeaux blend.
