"The 2013 Grenache Besson Vineyard emerges from one hundred year-old, head-trained vines just outside Gilroy, close to the southern edge of the Santa Cruz Mountains. The Besson shows darker tonalities of fruit than most wines. Dark red and blue-fleshed stone fruits, lavender and spices find plenty of support from beams of underlying tannin. Vivid and beautifully delineated in the glass, the 2013 is super-impressive. The 2013 was done with 50% whole clusters and aged in neutral barrels."
