"Like many top 2000s, the Jadot Bonnes-Mares seems to have brighter acids than is the norm for many of the wines in this vintage, which gives it a bit more succulence and juiciness. The nose here is superb, offering up scents of red and black cherries, a bit of venison, chocolate, developing notes of sous bois, woodsmoke and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, with excellent attack, a fine core of fruit, and a very lovely sappiness on the long and moderately tannic finish. If the Clos de Beze evolves positively in the barrel, it may catch this very impressive Bonnes-Mares. One of the freshest and best Jadot Bonnes-Mares that I have tasted. I look forward to trying the 1999 vintage of this wine."

The world's most influential fine-wine producer and the benchmark for Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne and the Rhone. Its appellation (AOC) system codifies geography, grape and method, and its wines set the global standard for age-worthiness and terroir expression.
Produces the world's most revered Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from a mosaic of tiny, terroir-defined climats. Its hierarchy of village, Premier Cru and Grand Cru vineyards makes site the ultimate expression of quality.
Bonnes-Mares is a Grand Cru straddling Chambolle-Musigny and Morey-Saint-Denis in Burgundy's Cote de Nuits, producing powerful, dense yet perfumed Pinot Noir reds that combine muscle with finesse and reward long cellaring.
A thin-skinned, terroir-sensitive red producing perfumed, silky and elegant wines of red-berry fruit and earthy complexity. It reaches its apogee in Burgundy.
