"This âbest caskâ bottling bursts with fragrant and tangy apple, grapefruit, and pineapple. Silken in feel yet animatingly bright and refreshingly juicy, it delivers an invigoratingly tingling, mouthwateringly salt-tinged finish transparent to bittersweetly floral, pungently herbal and smolderingly mineral nuances. If only more German growers â not just in the Rheingau â appreciated that infectious youthful drinkability and abundance of fruit by no means preclude profoundly complex, âminerallyâ and ageworthy Riesling. (Iâm probably underestimating this beautyâs aging potential, but my experience with older wines from Weingut Goldatzel has barely begun.)"

The spiritual home of Riesling, producing wines of piercing acidity, precision and longevity across a spectrum from bone-dry to lusciously sweet. Cool, steep-sloped vineyards along the Mosel and Rhine yield some of the world's most delicate, long-lived whites.
A historic Riesling region along the Rhine, producing racier, often drier wines of structure and mineral depth from south-facing slopes.
A highly aromatic white of piercing acidity and transparency to terroir, ranging from bone-dry to lusciously sweet. It ages remarkably and is the noble grape of Germany and Alsace.
