"It had been several years since I last had the opportunity to try this and it was side by side with the '90 Jadot Clos St. Jacques. As good as the '90 CSJ is, and it is indeed very, very good, the '93 Bonnes-Mares is simply at the next level of excellence with its fantastically complex nose that is completely secondary though there is no current sign of sous-bois to the spicy and intensely earthy aromas. There is superb richness and a velvety mouth feel to the dense, intense and overtly powerful big-bodied flavors that possess stunning depth and length. For my taste the '93 BM is fully ready though there is absolutely no rush to drink up as it should hold at this level for several more decades. A true stunner . . ."

The world's most influential fine-wine producer and the benchmark for Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne and the Rhone. Its appellation (AOC) system codifies geography, grape and method, and its wines set the global standard for age-worthiness and terroir expression.
Produces the world's most revered Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from a mosaic of tiny, terroir-defined climats. Its hierarchy of village, Premier Cru and Grand Cru vineyards makes site the ultimate expression of quality.
Bonnes-Mares is a Grand Cru straddling Chambolle-Musigny and Morey-Saint-Denis in Burgundy's Cote de Nuits, producing powerful, dense yet perfumed Pinot Noir reds that combine muscle with finesse and reward long cellaring.
A thin-skinned, terroir-sensitive red producing perfumed, silky and elegant wines of red-berry fruit and earthy complexity. It reaches its apogee in Burgundy.
