"Like the 1995 d’Angerville Champans, the Taillepieds is superb in 1995. The nose is deep and complex, with scents of black cherries, cassis, bitter chocolate, herbs, a bit of tobacco smoke, sous bois, earth, and a fine framing of toasty new oak. On the palate the wine is medium-full, deep and intensely flavored, with great focus and soil inflection, bright acids, well-integrated tannins, and excellent length on the finish. This is a stellar young bottle of Volnay, with very pure fruit and a superb expression of terroir."
