"This is the vineyard in which Louis Jadot’s famous Clos des Ursules is situated, and it is a lovely premier cru. Monsieur Germain’s example is excellent year in and year out, and the 2007 is no exception. The nose is a deep and refined blend of black cherries, red plums, a touch of blood orange, cocoa, roses, cedar and a bit of fresh thyme in the upper register. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, deep and sappy, with lovely tangy acids, fine focus, moderate tannins and excellent length and grip on the complex and bouncy finish. Like the Domaine de Saux, this will drink well from the outset, and yet be better still with a few years of bottle age."
