"The Garnier 2011 Chablis Montmains is redolent of lemon-laced fish stock and lightly-roasted peanuts. Firm and bright on the palate, its sustained finish focuses on fresh white peach and zesty lemon and grapefruit. Matured largely in demi-muids along with some stainless steel, this bottling registers barely 12% alcohol (though the label displays “12.5%”) after having left behind 2.3 grams of residual sugar that one can scarcely taste as such. I could well imagine it becoming yet more delightful as well as more interesting with a few years of bottle age and I would not hesitate to follow some . . ."
