92 JG "As opposed to several of these rather black fruity Savigny premier crus, the Vergelesses was all red fruit and spice as it sat in barrel awaiting its assembly and future bottling. The nose is a fine blend of red cherries, raspberries, red currant, orange zest, spice, coffee and lovely minerality. On the palate the wine is fullish, long and intensely flavored, with lovely mid-palate depth, excellent transparency, and lovely complexity and tang on the moderately tannic finish. What a tour de force of Savigny premier crus this year in the Bize cellars. Impossible to choose a favorite!"

The world's most influential fine-wine producer and the benchmark for Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne and the Rhone. Its appellation (AOC) system codifies geography, grape and method, and its wines set the global standard for age-worthiness and terroir expression.
Produces the world's most revered Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from a mosaic of tiny, terroir-defined climats. Its hierarchy of village, Premier Cru and Grand Cru vineyards makes site the ultimate expression of quality.
A thin-skinned, terroir-sensitive red producing perfumed, silky and elegant wines of red-berry fruit and earthy complexity. It reaches its apogee in Burgundy.
