"The dark cherry-colored 2013 Anjou Village Magellan is 100% Cabernet Franc from 70-year-old vines on quartz and schist. Fermented for five weeks on the mash and then aged for 123 months in amphorae, the wine opens with a pure, ripe and spicy, remarkably fine dark berry and floral aroma, with finest slatey and peppery flavors. Full-bodied, enormously fine, pure and juicy, this is an intense and perfectly ripe, yet fresh and finesse-full Cabernet; it has silky tannins and a great balance. The finish is stimulatingly pure and salty, revealing a nice grip and a delicate mineral freshness. A beautiful red Anjou with a lot of Pinot-finesse and elegance."

The world's most influential fine-wine producer and the benchmark for Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne and the Rhone. Its appellation (AOC) system codifies geography, grape and method, and its wines set the global standard for age-worthiness and terroir expression.
An aromatic red grape lending perfume, red fruit and a leafy, savory edge. It thrives in the Loire and as a key blending partner in Bordeaux, especially Saint-Emilion.
