"The Crochet 2010 Sancerre Le Cul de Beaujeu was raised in two demi-muids, one of which was new, so it enjoyed (I use that word advisedly ;-) half as much new wood as its predecessor (and thanks to his having had 3 x 600 liters worth of 2011, that wine received only one-third new oak). Juicy, bright lime, orange, and pineapple are allied to quince and liquid honeysuckle on an expansive, glycerin-rich, yet persistently lively and refreshing palate. Sweet citricity; cooling herbal essences; and a honeyed, liquid floral cast carry the finish on a soaring flight while continuing to take its bearings from a chalky substrate. This makes quite a deeply delicious contrast with the dynamic Le Chene bottling, and I believe we have here the first Crochet Beaujeu bottling that will stand the test of time . . ."
