"Charly Thevenet’s 2010 Regnie Grain & Granit comes from 78-year-old vines in south-facing and relatively low elevation portions of its appellation, and is vinified half-each in old barrique and tank. It is quite marked in the nose by its low sulfur, but beyond that evinces a delightful amalgam of fresh blackberry mingled with black and jasmine teas. Black licorice adds interest to the sappy, tart-edged berry and smoky, floral inner-mouth tea impressions, leading on a polished palate and sustained, mouthwatering finish."
