"At the time of my visit the 2009 Suchots was really showing well. The nose is deep, pure and nascently complex, as it offers up a properly reserved blend of cassis, black raspberry, espresso, game, woodsmoke, very complex soil tones and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, very pure and quite structured, with a rock solid core of fruit, superb length and grip and plenty of ripe, very suave tannins perking up the tangy finish. Suchots can often be a rather forward and flamboyant premier cru, and when it is reserved like the 2009 Jadot version, I always take this as a very, very positive sign for its future evolution. A superb premier cru in the making."

The world's most influential fine-wine producer and the benchmark for Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne and the Rhone. Its appellation (AOC) system codifies geography, grape and method, and its wines set the global standard for age-worthiness and terroir expression.
Produces the world's most revered Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from a mosaic of tiny, terroir-defined climats. Its hierarchy of village, Premier Cru and Grand Cru vineyards makes site the ultimate expression of quality.
Arguably Burgundy's most exalted village, home to legendary Grand Crus. Its Pinot Noir is renowned for perfume, silk and sublime complexity.
2009 in Burgundy was warm and sunny, producing ripe, rich and generous reds of hedonistic charm and supple tannins; the whites are opulent but can lack acidity, making them best enjoyed relatively young.
A thin-skinned, terroir-sensitive red producing perfumed, silky and elegant wines of red-berry fruit and earthy complexity. It reaches its apogee in Burgundy.
