"There are but 340 cases of the outstanding 2002 Syrah Mason-Dixon, a blend of fruit acquired from Oregon’s north (one-fourth) and south (75%). Its terrific aromas are packed with notes of candied black raspberries and roasted spices. On the palate, this medium to full-bodied wine is thick, toothsome, deep, and long. Smoked bacon, black raspberries, dark cherries, cassis, and jammy blackberries make up its prolonged and hedonistic character."

The fourth-largest wine producer in the world, led by California. American fine wine is defined by ripe, expressive fruit and a spirit of innovation, with Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon among the most sought-after wines globally.
Syrah (Shiraz) produces dark, powerful reds with black fruit, pepper and smoked-meat notes. It yields elegant, perfumed wines in the northern Rhone and bold, rich styles in Australia.
