"The 2010 Brunello di Montalcino is laced with dark cherry, plum, smoke, tobacco, cedar and incense. There is good depth to this mid-weight Brunello, even if some slightly angular contours remain. It will be interesting to see if further time in bottle softens some of the edges. Hints of tar, game and smoke add darker tonalities of complexity as the wine opens up a bit further."

Italy grows more indigenous grape varieties than any other country and produces wine in all 20 of its regions. From Piedmont's Nebbiolo to Tuscany's Sangiovese, its finest wines pair structure and bright acidity with a strong sense of place.
The heartland of Sangiovese, producing Chianti Classico, Brunello di Montalcino and the Cabernet-influenced 'Super Tuscans' of the coast. Its wines balance bright acidity, savory structure and cellar-worthiness.
A powerful, age-worthy Sangiovese from the warm hills of Montalcino, requiring extended aging and prized for depth and longevity.
Tuscany's signature red, giving high-acid, savory wines of sour cherry, herbs and firm tannin. It is the backbone of Chianti, Brunello and many Super Tuscans.
