"Tasted blind at the Burgfest annual tasting, the 2014 Chablis Grand Cru Valmur has a finely-tuned bouquet with scents of orange blossom, lemon peel and flinty aromas. The palate is very well balanced with a fine thread of acidity. I adore the harmonious nature of this Valmur, the silver bead of acidity and the precision on the finish that fans out gloriously. This is an outstanding Valmur from Chrisitan Moreau, a wine that appears to be getting better and better with age."

2014 in Burgundy is a benchmark white vintage, tense, fresh and mineral, though Cote de Beaune hail cut yields; the reds are balanced and classically proportioned, with good freshness and medium-term aging potential.
The world's most versatile white grape, producing everything from steely Chablis to rich, oaked whites. Its neutrality makes it a mirror of terroir and winemaking, and the foundation of white Burgundy and Champagne.
