"La Serena struts its stuff with the 2010 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Gemini. This beautiful wine from Andrea Mantengoli is balanced, powerful and generous in terms of its aromatic delivery. The pristine and saturated color of the wine is already an indication of the high quality to follow. A seamless array of aromas includes dark cherry, spice, leather, balsam herb and crushed mineral. What the wine does do successfully is present an integrated bouquet that is finely stitched together. It offers similar smoothness in terms of mouthfeel. This is a great under-the-radar Brunello that needs more bottle aging for sure."

Italy grows more indigenous grape varieties than any other country and produces wine in all 20 of its regions. From Piedmont's Nebbiolo to Tuscany's Sangiovese, its finest wines pair structure and bright acidity with a strong sense of place.
The heartland of Sangiovese, producing Chianti Classico, Brunello di Montalcino and the Cabernet-influenced 'Super Tuscans' of the coast. Its wines balance bright acidity, savory structure and cellar-worthiness.
A powerful, age-worthy Sangiovese from the warm hills of Montalcino, requiring extended aging and prized for depth and longevity.
Tuscany's signature red, giving high-acid, savory wines of sour cherry, herbs and firm tannin. It is the backbone of Chianti, Brunello and many Super Tuscans.
