"The 1994 Valsotillo Reserva (made from 100% Tinta del Pais that spent 24 months in oak) is powerful, evolved, and intoxicating in terms of its brash display of blackberry liqueur intermixed with licorice, mineral, and floral scents. This opaque purple-colored, full-bodied wine is brawny, expansive, rich, and brilliantly well-balanced."
