"Bright ruby-red. Complex, high-pitched aromas of black cherry, licorice and spices. Lovely sweetness to its dark fruit, licorice, menthol and earth flavors, with lively acids providing excellent cut. There's an almost peppery quality to this very fresh and sharply delineated 2005. Quite fine and airy for Pommard. Finishes dense and energetic, with traces of iron and leather."

The world's most influential fine-wine producer and the benchmark for Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne and the Rhone. Its appellation (AOC) system codifies geography, grape and method, and its wines set the global standard for age-worthiness and terroir expression.
Produces the world's most revered Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from a mosaic of tiny, terroir-defined climats. Its hierarchy of village, Premier Cru and Grand Cru vineyards makes site the ultimate expression of quality.
Pommard is a village AOC in Burgundy's Cote de Beaune with noted Premier Crus, producing dark, powerful and tannic Pinot Noir reds of firm structure and earthy depth built for aging.
2005 in Burgundy is a legendary vintage from a near-ideal, dry growing season; both reds and whites are concentrated, structured and superbly balanced, with dense tannins and exceptional long-term aging potential.
A thin-skinned, terroir-sensitive red producing perfumed, silky and elegant wines of red-berry fruit and earthy complexity. It reaches its apogee in Burgundy.
