"Medium-deep color. Exceptionally beautiful nose reminds us why wine is our hobby and not stamp collecting. We are drawn to scents that recall cherry cola, mint, and iron ore dust. There’s a gorgeous talc perfume, some wild, exotic qualities, and a bit of cocoa powder. Follows through perfectly on the palate. It’s big and complex 1998 CdP, with perfect acidity. This wine is balanced and displays wonderful minerality. The finish is consistent and extremely long. Best of all, wine #5 seems to be at peak drinking tonight. It’s phenomenal!"
