"From a 0.68 ha parcel; vinified with <15% whole clusters. This is markedly more floral on the equally cool and airy red and dark currant scents that are also laced with discreet spice and earth nuances. There is excellent intensity and power to the broad-shouldered flavors that deliver even more minerality on the impressively complex and persistent finish that is a bit less youthfully austere than it typically is. Patience will be required."

Aloxe-Corton is a village AOC in Burgundy's Cote de Beaune, ringing the Corton hill and holding Premier Cru vineyards; it produces mostly firm, structured, earthy Pinot Noir reds built for medium-term aging.
2014 in Burgundy is a benchmark white vintage, tense, fresh and mineral, though Cote de Beaune hail cut yields; the reds are balanced and classically proportioned, with good freshness and medium-term aging potential.
A thin-skinned, terroir-sensitive red producing perfumed, silky and elegant wines of red-berry fruit and earthy complexity. It reaches its apogee in Burgundy.
