". . . the greatest vintage of Palmer that I have ever had the great good fortune to taste, and the bottle we had at our October vertical was as profoundly magical as this wine can be . . . . The haunting bouquet soars from the glass in an utterly profound and surreal mélange of red cherries, mulberries, blood orange, black truffles, violets and roses, tobacco leaf, summer truffles, a touch of nutskin and a profound base of complex soil tones. On the palate the wine is deep, pure, fullish and yet very light on its feet, with flawless focus and equilibrium, bright acids, melted tannins and an endless, long and profoundly complex finish. A perfect expression of Palmer that beautifully captures the thrilling combination of perfumed, elegant and refined complexity and stunning intensity without undue weight on the palate. Claret simply does not get any better than this brilliant wine."

The world's most influential fine-wine producer and the benchmark for Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne and the Rhone. Its appellation (AOC) system codifies geography, grape and method, and its wines set the global standard for age-worthiness and terroir expression.
The world's largest fine-wine region, built around blends of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Divided by the Gironde estuary into the structured Left Bank and the plush, Merlot-led Right Bank, it is the historic benchmark for age-worthy claret and sweet Sauternes.
The Left Bank appellation prized for perfumed, silky and elegant Cabernet-based wines. Gravel soils yield claret of aromatic finesse and refinement.
