"The 2012 Spe'y Camp 4 Vineyard, a Grenache/Syrah/Carignane blend, is impeccable. Lifted and precise, especially in its aromatics, the 2012 is laced with suggestions of red stone fruits, lavender, rose petal and licorice. A touch of new French oak adds nuance but is not at all intrusive. This pliant, nicely balanced red should continue to drink well . . ."

The fourth-largest wine producer in the world, led by California. American fine wine is defined by ripe, expressive fruit and a spirit of innovation, with Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon among the most sought-after wines globally.
A warm-climate red giving generous, high-alcohol wines of red fruit and spice. It anchors southern Rhone blends and old-vine wines in Spain and Australia.
Syrah (Shiraz) produces dark, powerful reds with black fruit, pepper and smoked-meat notes. It yields elegant, perfumed wines in the northern Rhone and bold, rich styles in Australia.
