"Domaine Etienne Sauzet) The 2013 Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet from Domaine Etienne Sauzet is a gorgeous example of the vintage in the making, as these seventy-plus year-old vines have turned out a great performance in this vintage. The utterly classic nose delivers a nascently complex and very pure blend of white peach, lemon, complex, chalky minerality, spring flowers, lemon zest and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and bottomless, with a very minerally personality out of the blocks this year, laser-like focus and great cut and grip on the long and classy finish. A supremely elegant and intensely flavored example of this great terroir."

A pinnacle of white Burgundy, producing taut, mineral and long-lived Chardonnay of great precision and finesse.
2013 in Burgundy was a difficult, cool and hail-hit year with a late harvest and small crop; the wines are fresh, lean and classically styled, with bright acidity and firm structure, especially the reds.
The world's most versatile white grape, producing everything from steely Chablis to rich, oaked whites. Its neutrality makes it a mirror of terroir and winemaking, and the foundation of white Burgundy and Champagne.
