"As is so often the case with the Raveneau Clos, the 2007 is very closed in comparison to the Valmur and Blanchots, but with even greater potential. The bouquet is quite reserved, but at the same time nearly bottomless in its blend of grapefruit, lemon, tart apples, chalky soil tones, plenty of stoniness as well, and a lovely topnote of apple blossoms. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, deep and very soil-driven, with laser-like focus, brilliant cut and grip, superb structure and a very, very long, pure and minerally backend that never really finishes, one just eventually climbs up the stairs and goes down the road to Domaine Dauvissat for the next appointment. A great vintage for the Raveneau Clos."
