"From 4 separate parcels totaling 4.11 ha, 3 of which are all at the top of the slope. A broad-ranging and wonderfully elegant array features notes of spice, green apple, grapefruit, lemon rind and copious Chablis elements. Remarkably for a wine that is gorgeously refined, the medium-bodied and concentrated flavors are even more powerful than those of the Bougros and Valmur, all wrapped in a superbly complex, saline and balanced finish where the citrus character telegraphed by the nose reappears on the explosive finale. There is a bit of wood in evidence but I doubt that it will take very long before it is fully integrated. In sum, this is one to strongly consider. If you can find it, buy it."

Produces steely, mineral Chardonnay from Kimmeridgian limestone in Burgundy's cool north, prized for precision, purity and saline drive.
2014 in Burgundy is a benchmark white vintage, tense, fresh and mineral, though Cote de Beaune hail cut yields; the reds are balanced and classically proportioned, with good freshness and medium-term aging potential.
The world's most versatile white grape, producing everything from steely Chablis to rich, oaked whites. Its neutrality makes it a mirror of terroir and winemaking, and the foundation of white Burgundy and Champagne.
