"The 2008 Eiswein Gold Kap from the Halenberg vineyard is flat out stunning. The delicate, very pure and ethereal nose wafts from the glass in a haunting blend of pineapple, white peach, bee pollen, lovely stony minerality, a touch of fresh herbs and a floral topnote redolent of orange blossoms. On the palate the wine is medium-full, light and dancing, with magical purity, relatively moderate acids for an Eiswein, but an almost gem-like quality to its laser focus, perfect balance and very long, complex and classy finish. This is a relatively subtle and refined Eiswein that requires one to pay a bit of attention, as it is not going to hit the taster over the head, but what lies here in the glass is pure nectar!"
