"Medium ruby. Superripe aromas of currant, bitter chocolate and tar. Lush and silky on the palate, with excellent concentration and a complicating note of mint. Not at all a supersweet style of shiraz thanks to ripe supporting acidity. Still quite grapey on the back end, which features very fine tannins and excellent length. This producer fruit reportedly was a component of some vintages of Penfolds Grange during the early '90s."

Renowned for powerful, richly fruited Shiraz, most famously from the Barossa Valley, alongside age-worthy Cabernet and cool-climate whites. A warm climate and old, ungrafted vines produce wines of generosity and depth.
Syrah (Shiraz) produces dark, powerful reds with black fruit, pepper and smoked-meat notes. It yields elegant, perfumed wines in the northern Rhone and bold, rich styles in Australia.
