Lot 641
Estimate: $1,150
“The exceptionally concentrated 1990 reveals more polished, sweeter tannins along with a big, sweet kiss of black currant, forest floor, cedar, and spice box notes. While it still has some tannins to shed, this full-bodied, powerful, long wine is approachable. It should continue to evolve for another two decades.” [Score: 93+] Wine Advocate, #183, June 2009
Leoville Poyferre 1982 - Consists of 3 Bottles, 0.75L
Two base neck; one lightly scuffed capsule, one top shoulder; cut capsule, slightly recessed cork.
"A brilliant effort, it boasts a dense purple color as well as a sweet, flowery bouquet revealing plenty of creme de cassis, plum, and cherry notes, stunning concentration, a boatload of power, sweet tannins (the sweetest and easiest to taste among the St.-Juliens), and a long finish. Although close to full maturity, it has at least 20-25 years of life remaining." [Score: 95] Wine Advocate #183, June 2009
