"First vintage with more Malbec than Cabernet Sauvignon. Very refined nose, with a glossy plum and ripe, cherry fruit. Lovely floral nuances, with tobacco and spice and a hint of briarwood. The palate has silky cherry fruit, with very fine tannins and a really silky, voluminous texture of coffee and chocolate, but retaining some bite and freshness, with a long, silky finish."

The world's most planted premium red grape, yielding deeply colored, tannic and structured wines with cassis, cedar and graphite notes. Firm tannins and acidity make it exceptionally age-worthy, whether as a varietal or the backbone of a Bordeaux blend.
Yields dark, plush reds with ripe black fruit and soft tannins. A traditional Bordeaux blender, it found its greatest fame in Argentina.
