"Like the Pruliers, the 2013 Vaucrains chez Chevillon is very, very elegant out of the blocks this year, without sacrificing any of the depth and intensity that makes this one of Nuits St. George’s greatest premier crus. The outstanding nose offers up a blend of plums, black cherries, raw cocoa, nutskins, fresh herbs, a very complex base of soil tones, pigeon and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and tightly-knit, with a rock solid core of fruit, excellent transparency, ripe, firm tannins and a very long, vibrant and perfectly balanced finish. All this great, great wine needs is time."

The world's most influential fine-wine producer and the benchmark for Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne and the Rhone. Its appellation (AOC) system codifies geography, grape and method, and its wines set the global standard for age-worthiness and terroir expression.

2013 in Burgundy was a difficult, cool and hail-hit year with a late harvest and small crop; the wines are fresh, lean and classically styled, with bright acidity and firm structure, especially the reds.
A thin-skinned, terroir-sensitive red producing perfumed, silky and elegant wines of red-berry fruit and earthy complexity. It reaches its apogee in Burgundy.
